Asus has confirmed the launch of Asus ZenFone 8 and Asus ZenFone 8 Flip in India. The two phones are said to launch within the Indian market as Asus 8Z and Asus 8Z Flip. The Asus India website has launched a landing page with renders and specifications for the next phones. Asus could not launch the ZenFone 8 and ZenFone 8 Flip of the same name in the Indian market because the Zen and ZenMobile brands are owned by another company in the country.
The landing page on the Asus India company's website does not reveal the names of the two upcoming phones, but the images and specifications in the listing suggest that the in India, the Asus ZenFone 8 and the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip will be available soon. Exact launch date was not mentioned but the 'Notify Me' button worked. The two phones were launched globally earlier this month and they are expected to launch in India soon, albeit with supposedly different names - Asus 8Z and Asus 8Z Flip.
The Asus ZenFone 8 starts at 599 EUR (about 53,200 Rs) internationally, while the ZenFone 8 Flip starts at 799 EUR (about 71,000 Rs). Both phones will be priced similarly in the Indian market.
Asus ZenFone 8 and Asus ZenFone 8 Flip Specs
We all are familiar with specifications of Asus ZenFone 8 and Asus ZenFone 8 Flip from their global release. The specs are likely to remain the same, even if the name is changed to Asus 8Z and Asus 8Z Flip. The two phones will run Android 11 on top of ZenUI 8. The Asus ZenFone 8 has a 5.9-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) Samsung AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, while the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip has a 6.67-inch full-HD+ (1,080x2,400 pixels) Samsung AMOLED display with 90Hz refresh rate. The two phones are powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 SoC paired with up to 8GB RAM on the Flip model and up to 16GB RAM on the non-Flip variant. Both the smartphones come equipped with 256GB of UFS 3.1 internal storage.
The Asus ZenFone 8 has a dual rear camera arrangement with a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor and a 12-megapixel Sony IMX363 secondary sensor for photographs and movies. Rear camera setup includes a 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 primary sensor, a 12-megapixel Sony IMX 363 secondary sensor, and an 8-megapixel telephoto snapper with 3x optical zoom make up the camera configuration. The revolving camera can also be used to take selfies.
The battery of the ZenFone 8 is 4,000mAh, whereas the Asus ZenFone 8 Flip features a 5,000mAh battery. Both Quick Charge 4.0 and Power Delivery are supported. 4G LTE, 5G, Wi-Fi 6/6E, Bluetooth v5.2, GPS/A-GPS/NavIC, NFC, FM radio, and USB Type-C are among the phone's connectivity choices. The ZenFone 8 variant has a 3.5mm headphone jack. There's also an in-display fingerprint sensor on both phones. On ZenFone 8 variants, Asus has included three microphones with OZO Audio Zoom and internal noise reduction technology to improve audio recording.
